PhotoFast MemoriesCable Adds 128GB to iPhones and Charges Them Too Michael Kwan July 21, 2015 News As an iPhone owner, you might encounter a couple of pretty common problems. First, you might find yourself out in the wild with a drained battery and no means of charging it back up. Second, even when you are charged up, you might find that you’ve run out of storage space for your songs, movies, pictures and other content. The unique MemoriesCable product from PhotoFast overcomes both of these issues in one fell swoop. At first glance, the MemoriesCable doesn’t look like anything particularly special. It just looks like an extra short Lightning-to-USB charging cable that could be handy for travel and such, since it can slip into your pocket so easily. But that’s the less exciting half of what it can do. You see, this little cable happens to hide 128GB of storage under its nondescript exterior. “But the iPhone doesn’t support USB OTG,” you might exclaim. This is true. Apple and iOS don’t exactly play friendly with external storage solutions, so PhotoFast overcame this problem by creating its own app that can tap into its own external storage, making it appear like a connected flash drive. Of course, this means that in order to make use of that 128GB of storage on the MemoriesCable, you won’t be able to use the native apps on your iPhone. Instead, you’ll have to rely completely on free i-FlashDrive ONE app from PhotoFast. It’s functional if not as polished as the native apps. PhotoFast has not released pricing information for the MemoriesCable yet, which will also be available in a 64GB variant. Check the product page for more information.
