ZTE Axon Will Use Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass Dylan Duarte July 21, 2015 News Have you ever thought about all the gross stuff that probably collects on your phone? The gross stuff you then put up against your face and ear when you talk on the phone? I bet you’re going to think about it now. Last week we told you about the ZTE Axon Phablet that’s coming to North America at the end of July. We already knew the specs – Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB RAM, 5.5 inches, etc – but now we know that the glass itself will be unique. The ZTE Axon will be the first smartphone to use Corning’s “Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass.” The glass adds a layer of protection that repels the growth of algae, mold, mildew, fungi, and bacteria, stuff that I never even considered would grow on my phone. It also protects the phone from nasty smells. This is one of those technologies that you hope works well and becomes standard. Until then, please excuse me while I go scrub my phone down with soapy water. Share This With The World!
