Petition to Build Death Star Reaches Signature Requirement – White House Response Incoming Dylan Duarte December 14, 2012 Extras That’s no moon, it’s a space station – or it may be soon, if the White House takes this latest petition seriously. The White House’s “We the People” website allows people to start petitions, and if they reach 25,000 signatures, they’ll get an official White House Response. Now the Obama administration has to respond to the call for a Death Star. The petition, started by John D. in Longmont, Colorado, states that “those who sign here petition the United States government to secure funding and resources, and begin construction on a Death Star by 2016.” The petition was created on November 14th, which gave it until December 14th, today, to reach the required 25,000 signatures. It ended at 27,746. Per their policy, the Obama administration must respond to a successful petition, regardless of whether or not said petition is a practical joke. Hopefully the White House will humor everyone and come up with an equally funny response. Then again, maybe they’re just create an actual Death Star. via The Hill Share This With The World!
