Nintendo To Permanently Drop the 2DS Price on August 30 Dylan Duarte August 21, 2015 News While Nintendo may be struggling in the home console market, they’re absolutely thriving when it comes to handheld videogames. And if you’re someone who hasn’t taken the plunge yet, if you wait just a little bit longer, you’ll be able to do so cheaply when Nintendo drops the price of the 2DS, permanently. Beginning on August 30th, consumers will be able to pick up the standard Mario Kart 7 2DS bundle for just $100. The well-received 2011 cart racing game comes included as a digital download. The 2DS itself has only been around since October 2013, making it less than two years old. It can play the entire 3DS library, just without the 3D effect. The biggest difference between the 2DS and all other DS models is the 2DS doesn’t sport the same clamshell design as the rest. Instead of folding closed, the 2DS is a square, hinge-less gaming system. It can’t fold up and fit in your pocket, but for $100 does that really matter? Share This With The World!
