Nintendo NX May be a Family of Devices Dylan Duarte October 16, 2015 News Thanks to the Wall Street Journal, we now have an idea of the direction that Nintendo is taking with their new console, codenamed the NX. According to their sources, the NX will likely include both a console and a mobile unit that can be used with the console or independently as a handheld, similar to the Wii U, so obviously Nintendo is happy enough with that console to ape its design. However, the person who broke the story elaborated later on Twitter saying that the NX will likely have more than two devices, suggesting that Nintendo’s newest hardware is going to be a family of devices rather than one core machine. The source also claims that Nintendo has been listening to the complaints about their hardware lagging behind the competition and will seek to put industry-leading chips in their new console. When I first saw this story pop-up, I misread it as saying the NX was just going to be a handheld console and I wasn’t that surprised given Nintendo’s success in that area. That said, I’m glad they’re still plugging away at the home console market and still trying to innovate. Never change, Nintendo. Share This With The World!
