One thing that I’ve noticed during this trip to Taiwan is that every taxi in Taipei has a dashcam. All the cab drivers recognize just how important it is to have that video evidence should they get into an accident and I noticed that quite a few of them have a dashcam from PAPAGO!

Well, you might remember how we held a contest last month to give away a PAPAGO! GoSafe 330 dashcam to one lucky MEGATechNews reader. We had over 1,300 entries in all, which is a good demonstration of just how much demand there is for dashcams. We had the chance to meet up with Andy Chen from PAPAGO! on the COMPUTEX trade show floor to announce the winner of the GoSafe 330.

During our conversation with Andy, we also learned the origin story behind the PAPAGO! name. In Mandarin, the name roughly translates as “going everywhere,” which is in line with the company’s navigation heritage, as well as its current direction with dashcams. That makes a lot of sense!

In any case, I’m sure many of you are anxious to find out if you won the GoSafe 330. Watch the quick video embedded below to see if you’ll be finding a new PAPAGO! dashcam in your mailbox soon.

Thank you very much to everyone who entered. It’s great to see this kind of enthusiasm and we will definitely be hosting more MEGATech Giveaways in the future.

In the meantime, make sure you keep it locked to MEGATechNews for our ongoing coverage from COMPUTEX 2014 in Taipei. It’s a massive show with all sorts of awesome stuff. If you’re into the PC DIY and enthusiast side of things, our friends at Futurelooks will be providing ongoing coverage for motherboards, computer cases, gaming peripherals and more! Check that out too.
