LG V20 Ready to “Play More” on September 6 Michael Kwan August 4, 2016 News We already know that the upcoming LG V20 will be the first smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat. Now we know when LG will actually show us the darn thing. LG has announced it will be announcing (gotta love this trend of meta announcements, eh?) the newest addition to its mobile lineup at a special event on September 6. Scheduled to take place in San Francisco, the event invitation carries the main tagline of “Play More.” This perhaps gives us some indication that the LG V20 could be borrowing some of that “friends” influence from the modular LG G5. The secondary tagline tells us that “the second story begins” with the LG V20, whatever that means. In all likelihood, the “second story” probably refers to the secondary display on the phone. This should be very similar to the “ticker” display on the first LG V10 (pictured above). LG is still keeping pretty hush-hush about any other specific details. We can gather that it’ll have the secondary display, dual cameras, and Android 7.0. The rest of the picture is yet to be revealed. The hope is that the LG V20 will launch by the end of September.
