I Love My Doctor

Well, he’s actually my surgeon, but that man is easily my most favourite person on Earth just now. Odd, isn’t it? The man who is going to be cutting me open and removing parts I was born with in less than a month is someone I truly like. But he gets it. I mean, we have rules about prescriptions for narcotics (most people do, right?), but he essentially ignores them to keep calling in refills for me because I am still in pain. Yes, the dosage has changed, and I’m certainly not taking as much as I was when I first got out of the hospital, but since my normal full-length work day is seldom less than 15 hours and typically includes a bunch of heavy lifting, he knows I’m not just asking for more pills arbitrarily. And for that, I will be eternally grateful to him.
