All morning it was sunny, and the humidity was so high it felt like I was breathing through a wet quilt. Then around noon it got so dark it could easily have been midnight, the thunder started rumbling in the distance, and I could see occasional flashes of lightning. Finally, a little after 1pm the sky opened up and the wind started gusting so hard it was raining about four feet inside my hallway from the side door. Being me, I went out on the front porch (which has a deep overhang) to watch it. Now it’s almost pleasantly cool, still with high humidity, and it really isn’t all the much lighter out. Hopefully there will be more later. I love thunderstorms.
