Folding Laptop Desk Stand is an Invalid's Dream

I’m honestly not sure how to express how much I wish I had owned one of these last fall! Just the other day I wrote about the Prism Glasses and said how handy those would have been when I was laid out in bed, and now this? It’s like the tech gods heard me wishing for a solution and answered me… but four months too late. Still, definitely something to keep in mind for in case something happens again.

As you can see, this is a folding stand that acts as a work surface for places where there isn’t one. That can be just about anywhere, from the airport to your mother-in-law’s house. But this one adds a few bonus features that I’ve not seen before. First, it’s also a cooling pad for your laptop, which is incredibly handy (especially at my house…mine overheats and shuts down at least once a day in the summer if left to its own cooling devices). But the best part is the fact that it has a fastening belt with clips, along with two stoppers, that allow you to actually suspend your laptop safely above you while you’re lying down. You can also mount a book or magazine to it if you’d rather use that than a laptop or e-reader, and enjoy hands-free reading comfort (at least until you have to turn the page).

Sure, you could use this if you’re lazy and just don’t feel like getting up, but for those who are immobile for whatever legitimate reason, this could mean the difference between being productive and wanting to shoot themselves in the head from boredom. Trust me, I’ve been there. Mine was only a few weeks; I cannot imagine having to deal with it for longer.

This was recently launched in Japan in a limited number, with the next batch to arrive in March. Order now to get yours for the really very reasonable price of around $85.00 US. The unit weighs around 1960 grams and measures 840 mm wide, so there is plenty of room for just about any laptop.
