Corning: Flexible Willow Glass Displays Three Years Out Dylan Duarte February 28, 2013 Corning announced some time ago that they’re working on a flexible glass that can be used for mobile device displays, and ever since then the Internet has been excited about the possibilities. There was even a suggestion of a tablet that could be rolled up like a magazine. Yes please. Now Corning president James Clappin says that although you could see their new “Willow” glass technology used as early as this year, for things like solar panel barriers and support behind touch panels, we’ve likely still got three more years before we see devices with actual flexible displays. I’ll gladly give three more years to the makers of Gorilla Glass. The possibilities with Willow Glass are seemingly endless, and unlike Gorilla Glass, which simply improved on an existing technology, Willow Glass has the potential to be a major game changer. via Engadget Share This With The World!
