Chromebooks Coming to More Stores Dylan Duarte June 17, 2013 While Google hasn’t been pushing Chromebooks that hard, they’ve been working behind the scenes to increase the availability of their nifty little laptops. Google will now be shipping Chromebooks to Walmart, Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Fry’s Electronics, and TigerDirect, tripling the amount of stores that previously carried the device. Prior to this, they were only available through Amazon and Best Buy. The aforementioned retailers should start selling Chromebooks both in-store and online in “the coming months”. Walmart will supposedly only be carrying a 16GB, SSD-equipped version of the $199 Acer C7 that hit the market last year. No word on whether other stores are limited to specific models. Google is also increasing the international availability of Chromebooks. They introduced the laptop to Australia, Germany, Canada, and a handful of other countries last year, and now they’re bumping the number of stores that carry the device up to 6,600 worldwide. via The Verge Share This With The World!
