Good news (and it has nothing to do with the Dacia Sandero). If you’re in the market for a sliding Android phone with both a touchscreen and a full QWERTY keyboard from a company that has never sold an Android phone, you’re in luck! The BlackBerry Priv is now up for pre-order for the bargain basement price of just $699 US. Based on current exchange rates, that’s about $3 million Canadian.

All kidding aside, BlackBerry has officially listed the Priv in its online store and shipments are expected to commence on November 6th, exactly two weeks from today. The $699 price point is just a touch more affordable that the $750 figure that was leaked a couple days ago and it places the BlackBerry Priv right in the same unlocked range as the Galaxy Note 5, Nexus 6P and iPhone 6s.

This is the unlocked GSM-friendly version, so it’ll be just fine on AT&T and T-Mobile. BlackBerry notes that customers on Sprint, Verizon and US Cellular are effectively out of luck at this point. For Canadians, the online store is showing a pre-order price of $899 Canadian, as well as the option to pre-order from Rogers Wireless if you prefer.

As a refresher, the specs for the BlackBerry Priv include a 5.4-inch Quad HD curved display, Snapdragon 808 chip, 32GB storage, 3GB RAM, 18MP camera with OIS and certified by Schneider-Kreuznac, a 3410mAh battery good for 22 hours of mixed use, BlackBerry Hub, and DTEK security monitor.
