A few months back, we brought you the news that Belkin International was buying Linksys. As of today, that acquisition is complete. What does that mean for consumers? Business as usual, pretty much. Linksys will still be run as its own brand and there shouldn't be any visible difference from the consumer side of things. Belkin is keeping the brands separate in an effort to reach a broader audience.

Existing Linksys customers will be happy to know that Linksys customer support will remain intact, as will all valid warranties for both current and future products.

Belkin International sent out a press release announcing the completion of the acquisition and said that Linksys' rich heritage, passionate customer base, and wide product line all played a part in their decision to purchase the company. It's certainly a sound investment and hopefully the Linksys brand will continue to uphold its brand of quality.

Playa Vista, Calif. - March 15, 2013Belkintoday announced the completion of its acquisition ofLinksys. Linksys technologies, including its routers and the popular and innovative Smart Wi-Fi portfolio and services, will be managed and maintained as a separate brand and product portfolio.
