Amazon Kindle Smartphone Rumored to be Delayed Dylan Duarte March 11, 2013 Despite the presence of about a billion different smartphones, it’s always fun and exciting to see something new, especially from someone new, which is why geeks have been intensely curious about what Amazon is going to offer. Unfortunately, it looks like Amazon’s smartphone has been delayed again. Rumors pointed to a Q2 reveal for the “Kindle Phone,” but now it looks like we might not see it until later this year. According to supposed Foxconn sources, production on the phone has had a bit of trouble and the device is still undergoing its engineering verification test due to problems with its mobile platform. The actual production is being done by Foxconn subsidiary Ensky Tech, who’s been responsible for Amazon’s e-readers and tablets in the past. Production of the phone was supposedly scheduled to begin in June, but that’s apparently been pushed back. Then again, SlashGear points out that its source, DigiTimes, has an iffy track record with rumors, so takes this story as just that. Share This With The World!
