No matter what your views on gun control are, I think we all want more gun safety. Accidental shootings are a common occurrence in the United States, and in 2015 there was an average of one toddler-related shooting incident a week. Guns in the home need to be well protected and unavailable to those who don’t know how to safely use them. That’s where Jerusalem-based Zore comes in.

The Zore X is a smart gun lock that can be tracked and unlocked remotely through your smartphone. Of course, it can be unlocked physically as well, with a PIN dial that operates like a combination lock. The dial doesn’t have any numbers on it, and instead counts the number of clicks. You can turn it either way to start, and Zore claims that even with a long PIN code, the gun can be unlocked in a matter of seconds, in the dark, and even behind your back. The app even has a trainer feature that will test you and help you hone your unlocking skills.

The tracking feature lets you know when your gun is being tampered with, and the Zore Bridge uses a Bluetooth-to-WiFi system to extend the radius at which your gun is tracked. Then there’s the Zore WatchDog, which uses WiFi to let you monitor your gun no matter where you are, anywhere in the world.

The Zore went up on Indiegogo and blew past its $100,000 goal to earn almost a quarter of a million dollars. They’re offering a fourth of July deal to the first thirty to take it: two Zore X, one Zore Bridge, and a Zore WatchDog for $209. Check them out right here, and be sure to watch the video below. If you’re a gun owner, especially one with kids in the house, you need to make sure your gun is out of harm’s way.
