Watch 8BitDad Unbox the Nintendo Switch Michael Kwan February 24, 2017 News The official launch of Nintendo’s bold new machine that serves both as a mobile gaming device and a home console is still a week away, but Zach Rosenberg from 8BitDad was lucky enough to get an early unit. And he got his grubby hands all over the thing to unbox the Nintendo Switch live on Facebook. If you’re looking for honest early impressions, this is the way to get it. With a 6.2-inch screen and the removable pair of Joy-Con controllers, the Nintendo Switch is best described as “wide but not off-putting,” he says. In the video, he compares the size and style of the Switch to the Nintendo 3DS, his iPhone 6 Plus, and the Wii U controller to give you a sense of scale. You can also see how frustrating it might be to switch between the different “modes” with the Joy-Con controllers, because it doesn’t feel immediately obvious how you’re supposed to slide the pieces apart. And yes, he boots it up and walks you through the setup process too. The Nintendo Switch launches on March 3 for $300 MSRP. Go ahead and peep the whole 90 minute video below. I’m sure Zach won’t mind if you jump around a bit. Share This With The World!
