TORONTO, ON – December 4, 2007 – Following the huge success of Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace Video Store in the US, where it has changed the way Xbox 360™ owners view and enjoy high-definition movies, Microsoft® today announced that Xbox LIVE Marketplace Video Store will open for business in Canada on December 11th, 2007.

Canadian Xbox 360 owners will be able to rent full-length films such as Ocean’s 13, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, License to Wed and 300 for as little as 310 Microsoft Points for Standard Definition movies and from 460 Microsoft Points for High Definition movies.

With this launch, Xbox LIVE Marketplace becomes the first video on demand service to be available in six countries – US, Canada, France, Germany, the UK and Ireland – and cements its place as the worldwide leader in online distribution of high-definition gaming and entertainment content.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing the Xbox LIVE Marketplace Video Store to Canadians and other Xbox 360 owners around the world,” said Scott Nocas, Global Marketing Manager, Xbox LIVE “Canadians now have access to the most comprehensive entertainment experience on Xbox 360 and with more choice than ever before. In addition to high definition games and music videos, the Xbox Live Marketplace Video Store will now offer high definition movies.”

“Xbox LIVE has proven to be a very powerful platform to deliver content to consumers and the introduction of a Video on Demand service will allow them to easily view movies through their consoles,” said Andrew Mellett, senior vice president, Video on Demand, Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. “We’re very enthusiastic about this new service and look forward to bringing additional movie titles online in the coming months.”

“We’re excited to be partnering with Xbox and to be part of the Canadian Xbox LIVE Marketplace Video Store launch,” said Brad Pelman, Co-President, Maple Pictures. “Xbox LIVE will provide yet another vehicle to deliver great Canadian film content to an even broader audience.”

Nicola Goelzhaeuser, VP, Film Library & Program Sales, MPI added: “We look forward to seeing the growth of this new distribution platform in Canada and we’re thrilled that MPI will be part of this growth.”

Xbox 360 gamers in the launch countries can access Xbox LIVE Marketplace Video Store with either an Xbox LIVE Silver or Gold membership and a broadband connection. More information about the content available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace Video Store can be found at:
