Veteran’s Day. Remembrance Day. I’m sure it’s called something else in other countries, but I’m only familiar with the US and Canada. Today is the day we honour service members, and thank them for serving our respective countries. One of the things I don’t think I’ve told you is that my dad served on board the USS Intrepid. If you’re not familiar, that is the aircraft carrier that after being decommissioned now serves as a maritime museum in New York. I think that’s neat. Various other family members served at various times in various branches of the armed forces, while over the years any number of friends (and boyfriends, and both of my former fiances) served as well. I am thankful to each and every one of them for doing what they did, for whatever reasons they had, and for defending my country.
