The News: Saturday, January 26 Edition Beth Snyder January 26, 2013 Have I mentioned lately how happy I am the NHL is back on the ice? I truly love my AHL boys, but that’s work…I’ve actually never attended a game purely for the pleasure of watching them play. Not that I’ve actually managed to attend an NHL game, but those I go out of my way to watch (or surreptitiously switch to them while our game is happening on the ice in front of me, as happened last night). This short season is going to make for some brutal, yet highly competitive hockey, and not everyone is going to measure up. The way some of them are playing, you’d think they weren’t doing any skating on their own to keep in shape in the interim. But it’s back, and I am a happy girl.
