Stay in Touch with Etre Fivepoint and Touchy Winter Gloves Beth Snyder November 30, 2011 It’s a problem most of us are going to go have to face this winter: your phone rings, but you’re wearing gloves. Which means even if you haven’t programmed a fancy pattern to unlock your screen, you won’t be able to make even the simple down-swipe required to answer it. Not to mention anything else you might want to do with your smartphone, iPad, or other tablet or device. There are many products on the market to help with this, but these are in my opinion the best to come across my desk thus far. Etre makes two different types of gloves, the Fivepoint and Touchy. The Touchy style has open fingertips on the finger and thumb to allow you to use your fingers on your touchscreen. They are made of 100% wool, and come in ten different style and colour patterns. They come in small, medium and large. These would be handy for more than just using your phone, though…anyone who regularly performs tasks that require more sensitivity than you can get through a pair of gloves will benefit from these. Each pair will run you $54.90 US. The Fivepoint style offers full finger coverage (which is nice for people who actually spend a lot of time outside). They are made of 95% wool and 5% mixed fibers. The mixed fibers are found on the tips of each finger to allow conductivity to your touchscreen without having to remove your gloves. They also come in small, medium and large, but with less colours to choose from. The three available colours are Oxford blue with pearl gray tips, rosemary with pearl gray tips, or for the more subtle among us black with charcoal tips. Each pair of this type costs $64.90 US.
