Sony Developing Selfie Camera That Looks Like a Perfume Bottle Dylan Duarte August 20, 2014 There are certain things in life that I just don’t understand, no matter how hard I try. Then there are things that I won’t even try to understand. This latest gadget falls in the latter category. Sony is apparently working on a camera that’s modeled after a bottle of perfume and designed specifically for taking selfies. According to Engadget, “several Chinese female influencers and models” have been walking around snapping photos of themselves with said camera, which is equipped on top with a large, flippable lens. A report from Digicame Info earlier this week mentioned a Sony compact camera called the KW1, which might be this weird perfume bottle-selfie camera monstrosity. According to the report, the camera features a 1/2.3-inch 19-megapixel sensor and a 23mm equivalent f/2 wide angle prime lens, while being equipped with Wi-Fi, NFC, and app compatibility, presumably all designed to get your selfies onto social networks. I suppose this story isn’t all that crazy when you consider that the selfie is very much a part of our global culture now. Looking at it in that light, it’s a wonder why we don’t have multiple cameras designed to take the perfect picture of your beautiful mug. According to Sony’s Chinese website, an announcement is coming on Friday, August 22nd, so expect more information then. via The Verge Share This With The World!
