Pay to Snooze Alarm Clock Might Actually Get You Up On Time Beth Snyder February 24, 2014 You know the only thing I love about being off work? Not having to get up at any particular time. If I want to sleep until noon because I couldn’t fall asleep until 5:00 am, who cares? However, in my normal life I quite regularly have to get up well before I’m ready. I’ve been searching for the perfect alarm clock for most of my adult life, and haven’t yet managed to find it. Maybe the Pay To Snooze Alarm Clock is what I’ve been looking for. It looks like a cartoon version of an old-fashioned alarm clock, and it rings just like every other alarm clock you’ve ever owned. It even has a snooze button, so people like me who tend to set the alarm at least 30 minutes early because it takes at least two snooze cycles for me to wake up enough to realize that’s what’s happening can function. The difference is, if you want to hit the snooze button, you have to insert money. Not only do you have to insert money to hit the snooze button, you have to insert money to shut it off. Really, you win either way. Either you save a bunch of money because you’re putting it all in your alarm clock, or you start getting up on time. Neither of those is necessarily such a bad option. I would still have to try little tricks on myself, though…like only leaving a couple of coins there, so my poor sleep-addled brain would have to get up and find more if I used my allotted number of snooze cycles already. I would imagine this could get quite obnoxious for anyone sleeping in the same room, especially if they didn’t have to get up and you’re fumbling around in the dark trying to find a quarter to shut the thing off. But I bet you’d get really good at getting up on the first bell. The clock measures 5 inches wide x 2 inches deep x 6 inches tall, has an LCD display, and requires two AA batteries (not included). Cost is about $40.00 US. Source: Incredible Things Share This With The World!
