New Nexus “Shamu” 6 Details Dylan Duarte September 25, 2014 I want to say that after using it so often the word “phablet” is growing on me, but it really isn’t. That being said, 9to5Google has come into some rumors/information about the upcoming Nexus “Shamu” 6 and it looks like the screen size is going to be a ridiculous 5.92 inches. That pushes the phone well into phablet terrority, and I mean well into it. The device will share the same aesthetics as the 2nd generation Moto X (check out 9to5Google’s mock-up above) with slight adjustments to accomodate the massive screen. The screen will have a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 and 498 PPI. The battery will be 3,200 mAh, which should provide a powerful charge. The rear camera will be 13MP and will be able to shoot 4K UHD video. The front camera will be 2MP and like that of the 2nd generation Moto X. The processor will be a Snapdragon 805 and the phone will contain 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (though that may just be one model), and as the rumors have all suggested, will likely run Android L. There’s still a 5.2-inch Nexus device floating around out there that nobody knows much about. It’s shown up in benchmark applications, so we know it exists, we just don’t know anything more than that. Expect an official announcement in late October with a November release date to follow.
