Music is a huge part of my professional life, but also a huge part of my personal life. Since everything has been going downhill on a very fast sled lately, I decided to have a music night to pull myself out of it. What worked out even better was the phone call I got in the middle. There’s something about hearing “hello, beautiful” that automatically picks me up no matter what else is going on. So even though we are very probably going to end up separated by entirely too many miles and a time zone within a week for a couple of months, I know my place is absolutely assured. And at least it’s only a couple of months instead of a year-long deployment.
