A fingerprint scanner on the Moto G4 was first hinted at in some leaked pictures, but the truth of the matter – largely according to the ever-reliable Evan Blass aka @evleaks – is that its the Moto G4 Plus that will have a scanner, while its smaller sibling will not.

Instead of going to Motorola with questions regarding the leak, people instead flocked to Blass’s Twitter account, which is interesting if nothing else. Blass has always been reliable, and of course he’d be willing to share what he knew whereas Moto representatives would likely be tight-lipped about the matter.

It looks like the earlier leaked titled Moto Infinity showed off what is indeed the final design for the Moto G4 Plus, a phone that Lenovo CEO Yunaqing Yang has hinted may show up in July, likely alongisde the Moto G4. I would say we’ll have to wait until then to get the full story, but at the rate these leaks are coming, I’m sure we’ll know a lot more well before then.
