More Herbs, Less Salt Day Beth Snyder August 29, 2011 If you haven’t already cut back on your salt intake, now is a good day to start. Sure, we do need some salt in our diets, and I will never advocate cutting it out entirely, but people use way too much salt as a rule. Me, I rarely add salt at the table, because when I cook I use a wide variety of herbs and spices that give flavour without adding all the sodium. It’s not that I don’t use salt, it’s that herbs can take its place easily enough. Why not give it a try? It’s a little goofy at first, but your blood pressure will thank you.
