Lenovo Making iPhone Hologram Keyboard Hoax a Reality Dylan Duarte May 29, 2015 News Contrary to popular belief, you can believe most of the things you read on the Internet, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be misled a time or two. Like in 2012, when the folks at a Fox affiliate fell for a hoax video showing an iPhone 5 concept with a laser keyboard and a hologram projector. That wasn’t real. Until now, of course. Lenovo has taken that joke and decided it would be really cool if it wasn’t a joke. The “Smart Cast” technology will project a holographic keyboard on any surface in front of the phone and the camera will pick up your keystrokes. Of course, this isn’t new technology, and there are gadgets that already do this, but Lenovo wrapping it into a phone will definitely be a first. There’s no release date or further details as of yet, but there is a video you can watch below. The novelty of it is great, but I like tactile feedback, so I’m not sure how well this would go over. Then again, I said the same thing when switching from a physical keyboard to a touchscreen keyboard, and I’ve grown perfectly accustomed to that. And I can’t judge those Fox employees. I’ve been fooled by sillier things. Share This With The World!
