Killzone 3 Multiplayer Being Released as Free Standalone Download Dylan Duarte February 24, 2012 Now this is a neat idea. Killzone 3, which was released for the PS3 last February, followed the guideline set by all modern FPS games, which means it had a relatively short single player campaign and a substantial multiplayer mode. Now Sony has announced that they’ll be releasing the multiplayer portion of the game as a standalone download on PSN – and a free download to boot. All of the maps will be available with the only limitation being an as-of-yet unannounced level cap. If players decide they like it enough to buy it, they can do so for $15. While this feels a lot like the current “freemium” trend of which I’m not very fond, I do like it in this case. It sounds like you’ll be able to play a substantial amount of the game for free. Not to mention that many people like games of this sort specifically for the multiplayer, so offering that as a separate deal is a good idea. Share This With The World!
