Keep Track of Your Valuables With the CobraTag Beth Snyder April 8, 2011 Are you the type of person who is constantly losing your keys? What about your purse, briefcase, or backpack? If so, then this is the device for you. Assuming, of course, you have a smartphone. And really, who doesn’t other than me? How this works is, you load the free app to your Blackberry or Android phone, and the Cobra system takes over. The app constantly monitors the distance between your phone and whatever you’ve attached the tag to, and will sound an alarm if they become separated. If for some reason you miss the alarm going off, it will note the GPS location and time/date of separation. It then sends a text or email to a pre-defined contacts list, or it can notify a Twitter or Facebook account. In addition, it acts as a finder…use the app to make the CobraTag ring in case you’ve misplaced your bag. The app can also be set to lock your phone when out of range of the tag to protect your phone’s data. Release date on this one isn’t until July, but you’ll be able to get it for $59.99.
