Kanelbullens Dag (Cinnamon Roll Day) Beth Snyder October 4, 2011 One of my best memories from early childhood is my dad getting up a stupid o’clock in the morning to make cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas morning. I, unfortunately, am incapable of making them to his specifications, so I’ve not had them since he left. But there was something just too fabulous about hovering around him as he made the dough, let it rise, rolled it out, added all the goodies, and then created the melt-in-your-mouth delightful treats. I probably burned my tongue more times on Christmas morning than any other time of year, because I always found it pretty much impossible to wait for them to cool even slightly when they came out of the oven. Icing, by the way, acts just like molten lava in your mouth. But boy were they good! I may have to run across the street on my break and get one, although it won’t be the same.
