I like Instagram, because I like photography. And I like selfies, because I think self-confidence is a wonderful, beautiful thing. That being said, I don’t need to see forty-three pictures of your face at the same restaurant, in the same lighting, with the only difference being how much oomph you’re putting into your duck lips.

And now, by the grace of God, I might not have to.

It’s currently only in the testing phase, but Instagram has launched a new archiving feature that lets you hide pictures from public viewing while also holding onto them. This will let you hold onto embarrassing photos that you don’t want people to see, but don’t necessarily want to delete either, but it will also allow you to curate your gallery. You can hoard all of your photos, but only select the best of the best for public consumption. Instragram accounts can get clogged up so quickly, and this should help combat that. If Instagram decides to roll it out wide, and if users actually use it.
