Instagram for Android Gets 1 Million Downloads in 24 Hours Dylan Duarte April 4, 2012 Just the other day I reported that Instagram for Android was taking sign ups, so that you could be among the first to download the program. Well, after launching on Tuesday, Instagram for Android racked up over a million dowloads by day’s end. Almost half of those downloads are from users who preregistered. And It certainly doesn’t hurt the app is free. Since its iOS launch in October 2010, there’s been demand for an Android version of the app for some time now, so its massive success doesn’t come as much of a shock. That doesn’t make it any less impressive. I downloaded it myself after preregistering, and after playing around with the app for a few seconds, I lost interest in record time. I’m sure I’ll give it a second look at some point, but I’m just not much of a “sharing” kind of guy. via The Verge Share This With The World!
