Every time I come across an Apple store, the pretentiousness of it all washes over me in waves and I grow infuriated to the point where I throw my Cinnabon at the word-less Apple logo, at which point I’m ejected from the mall and transformed into a martyr for my fellow Google lovers.

Google is looking to open its own stores, hopefully inside of actual Apple stores, and they’re looking to have the first few stores open in major cities in time for the holidays. Google feels, and rightfully so, that people need more hands-on time before committing to bigger electronics purchases. The way in which I furiously research any and all major online purchases prior to making them illustrates the double-edged nature of online shopping.

Google currently has several stores within U.S. Best Buys and U.K. PCWorld/Dixon’s, where employees educate consumers on Google products. Reportedly, the decision to open stores came about while discussing Google Glass and how hands-on time will be very important for selling that particular product.
