We’ve been promised foldable smart phones for some time now. Though they haven’t quite reached flying car-level of un-attainability just yet, and now it looks like they might not at all. Samsung’s “Project Valley” looks to bring foldable displays to market early next year.

Now, hearing “early next year” might bring up memories of Samsung saying they might be ready by January of this year, which clearly didn’t happen. Project Valley seems to be rolling ahead though, and now rumor has it that the phones may make an appearance at Mobile World Congress in February 2017.

Samsung supposedly has two phones in the works. One is a five-inch handset that turns into an eight-inch tablet. The other, going off of a patent the company recently filed, is a smartphone that folds directly in half, not unlike a flip phone.

Will we see them in eight-ish months? Time will tell! Unless it folds in on itself, not unlike these phones.
