Deus Ex-Inspired Prosthetics Coming Next Year Dylan Duarte June 8, 2016 News Not to be outdone by Konami and their Metal Gear-inspired prosthetic, Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal have teamed up with Open Bionics – the low-cost prosthetics manufacturer behind Iron Man, Frozen, and Star Wars-inspired arms – to develop prosthetic limbs based on the Deus Ex universe. One will be directly based on protagonist Adam “I never asked for this” Jensen and the other will be designed to fit the look and aesthetic of the overall universe. The first will be called the Adam Jensen arm and the other the Titan arm (according to Engadget), and as you can see the Jensen arm features much more detail while the Titan opts for an intentionally blocky, angled look. While the Jensen arm may look overall more impressive, I feel the Titan arm is more intimidating. If you’re looking to command, I think you know which route to take. The arms will be shown at E3, Gamescom, and other shows. Razer will be helping out, using their Stargazer webcam to show people what it would be like to control a prosthetic limb by tracking their movements. We know there are a lot of disabled gamers out there, and it’s fantastic that companies like Eidos-Montreal, Square Enix, Konami, and most of all Open Bionics are dedicated to meeting their needs. What’s even better is that by producing these stylish prosthetics based on beloved franchises, it gives amputees not only the opportunity to be unique, but to pay homage to the things they love as well.
