Finally An Answer Beth Snyder May 29, 2010 So…I’ve had problems with my cable connection since the dawn of time. Well, at least the dawn of my internet time, through three different cable companies, four different builds of my original desktop, the new desktop, and three different laptops. Yesterday the cable guy came and FINALLY someone gave me an answer that actually makes sense! I live in an old house, which means only about six outlets in the whole house are grounded. Which leads to voltage going back on the cable lines, because it’s easier to find the ground through that line than the existing house ground. I’m not exactly happy, as the only way to fix it is to pay an electrician to re-wire my house, BUT…now I know. And considering this is the first time I’ve heard it since the spring of 2001 when I first got broadband here, I have to say it’s just about darn time!
