Foldable screens are coming, but they’re still very much in the conceptual stage – for most manufacturers. According to the Patron Saint of Leaks, Evan Blass (aka wikileaks), ZTE is ahead of the curve in this particular field with the Axon Multy dual-screen foldable handset on set for an October 2017 release. That’s next month!

The device will be a horizontal clamshell that folds along its vertical axis. In its folded form, it will have 1920 x 1080 displays on both the front and the back of the device. When the device is unfolded, the two displays will merge into a larger, 6.8-inch screen, which is half an inch bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 8’s screen.

ZTE's Axon Multy Will Be Foldable, Coming Next Month

According to Blass, the device will be less than 10mm thick when it’s in its folded form. On the inside, the Axon Multy will have a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 3,120 mAh battery. It only has one camera, but it’s a respectable 20-megapixel sensor, and it can apparently “serve multiple functions on a product of this form factor.” We don’t know what that means exactly, but it’s certainly an exciting prospect.

The Axon Multy will reportedly debut at $650 USD and will be available exclusively through AT&T.
