Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe Just Did What Apple, HTC and Huawei Cannot

Unlike other phones that boast an aluminum unibody design, the Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe does not have antenna lines running across its back. Every other phone with an all-metal design has had to make the design sacrifice of having thin horizontal lines running across the back in order to provide the device with a wireless signal. The only exception to this is the LG G5, with its “disguised” antenna lines, but it still gets a horizontal line on the back because of the detachable bottom.

The net result for Asus is one of the slickest and most attractive Android smartphones to date. Naturally, the specs and features found inside are nothing to scoff at either.

In the case of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, you get a snappy Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 graphics, up to 6GB of RAM, 23MP main camera (with a Sony IMX318 image sensor and f/2.0 aperture), integrated fingerprint sensor on the back, Quick Charge 3.0, USB 3.0 Type-C, and a 5.7-inch 1080p display.

Alongside the “Deluxe” model, the new ZenFone 3 lineup also includes a regular ZenFone 3 with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and a gigantic ZenFone 3 Ultra with a 6.8-inch 1080p display. The former is powered by a Snapdragon 625, whereas the latter gets a Snapdragon 652, both of which are octa-core chips.

These all represent big leaps over the ZenFone 2 series and are certainly more exciting that the selfie phone Asus announced at last year’s Computex. Check the press release below for more details, including other new products, though Asus isn’t yet forthcoming about pricing or availability.
