Apple iPhone 5S to Arrive in June Allan Schroeder December 12, 2012 Apple is rumoured to be releasing the iPhone 5S in the spring, returning to their normal iPhone product cycle. The new iPhone is rumoured to have a larger HD screen, an improved battery and NFC… and, for the wildcard, it’ll be available in multiple colours. Also speculation at this time but worth a mention is the possibility of 128GB of storage, something that in the age of the cloud, seems unnecessary and based on Apple’s current pricing, cost $300 more than the typical 16GB base model. There are a few reasons why Apple would return to their second quarter release cycle. First and foremost, the iPhone 5 is not perfect and has suffered from a myriad of problems, some real and some spurred on by the Intrawebs. Returning to the first half of the year also improves Apple’s bottom line for the first two quarters and prevents Apple from launching all its new products towards the end of the year. Speeding up the release of the next iPhone will solve both of these problems. While the majority of rumours tend to be just that, most of these make sense, and if Apple can repair Maps, the iPhone 5S will go a long way to improving customer satisfaction and Apple’s bottom line.
