Apple CEO Tim Cook Plans to Give All of His Money Away Dylan Duarte March 27, 2015 News It’s Friday, the day Rebecca Black has designated for getting down, and what better way to get down than with some uplifting news that will hopefully either restore or sustain your faith in humanity and send you into the weekend with a smile on your face? Tim Cook, Steve Jobs’ successor and the current CEO of Apple, revealed in an interview in Fortune magazine that he’ll be turning towards philanthropy in a big way in his later years, giving away all of his substantial wealth. He’s currently considered to be worth $112 million and holds restricted stock that could be worth $665 or more. According to the interview, Cook has already been donating in secret, but is looking to ramp it up. This of course brings to mind the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a non-profit that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates created to manage his considerable philanthropic efforts. It’s nice to see so many selfless, charitable individuals in the tech industry. It really hammers home the notion that these are people who simply want to make the world a better place. So go, enjoy your weekend, and for Rebecca’s sake – get down. via Engadget Share This With The World!
