Fortunately, Amazon has decided that the occasion should be more than just a reminder of our gradual but inevitable descent down this mortal coil. The Kindle’s tenth anniversary is a reason to celebrate, and Amazon is doing that by dropping the price on several Kindle models. The deal affects three of the current Kindle models: the straight-up vanilla device, the Paperwhite, and the Voyage. They’ll be dropping to $49.99, $89.99, and $169.99, respectively. That’s a thirty dollar price drop for each model, which amounts to almost 50-percent off the vanilla model. The Kindle Oasis, Amazon’s first waterproof e-reader (perfect for reading in the bath), comes out on October 31st (perfect for reading scary novels in the bath!) and will run $249.99. The deals don’t end there. Amazon is also discounting a selection of ebooks, with sales of up to 80-percent. Select accounts are also getting a $5 credit toward a book of their choosing, so be sure to see if your account was chosen.
