Root Beer Float Day Beth Snyder August 19, 2011 Or Black Cow Day, whichever you prefer. When I was a kid, we used to go to this local place for special occasions (mostly birthdays) because they served the best root beer float on the face of the planet. Or, you know…it tasted just like every other root beer float and my horizons weren’t that broad. Whatever. They used only A&W root beer, they used only French vanilla Hudsonville ice cream, and it came in one of those stainless steel soda fountain cups with a long spoon and a bendy straw. You know the best part? I didn’t even know this holiday was coming, but I have everything except the soda fountain cup in my house right now. Which means after I get this post done, I’m having a root beer float. I may have another one (or more) later on…it’s still early.
