Street Fighter II Grand Final at LANcouver 2011 Michael Kwan July 23, 2011 LANcouver 2011 welcomes all kinds of gamers. They welcome the PC gamers who want to battle it out in StarCraft II, just as much as they have love for all the Counterstrike heroes out there. We’ve already seen a Mario Kart Wii tournament, but that doesn’t mean that all tourneys are on modern systems with modern games. As I was making my way around the venue, I came across a tournament that was organized for Street Fighter II. It wasn’t the original version and they didn’t go quite as far back as the SNES, but they did break out the arcade sticks and adapters for play on the Sega Dreamcast. That’s pretty epic. They even used an old school CRT TV. In related news, I was also around to watch the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 1v1 grand finale. We’ll have the entirety of that best-of-five battle up soon, so stay tuned for that. Share This With The World!
