With the G Flex, LG is simply jumping onboard the curved smartphone bandwagon, but trying to get out ahead of it, showing other companies how to do it right. According to Dr. Jong-seok Park, the president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, the G Flex is the “best representation yet of how a smartphone should be curved.”
The G Flex will take advantage of a 6-inch curved OLED display, a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel camera. However, the most interesting feature may be the self-healing coating found on the back cover that can repair small scratches and nicks all on its own. Granted, I doubt many users care all that much what the back cover of the phone looks like, but it’s an exciting technology and who wouldn’t want to retain their phone’s youthful smoothness?
The LG Flex is coming to Korea in November, which additional dates and markets to be announced. Check out the full press release below.
