Windows Phone 8 Finally Getting Instagram (But Only for Nokia Lumia Devices) Michael Kwan March 5, 2013 Despite all the troubles that Instagram faced with its “revised” terms of service, it remains one of the most popular photo apps and photo-centric social networks on both iOS and Android devices. We can’t help but to take pictures of our food, of our cats, and of our cats eating our food, applying retro-styled filters to share with our friends. You know, except for our friends using Windows Phone and BlackBerry. While there are no apparent plans to bring Instagram to BlackBerry 10, a report from WPDang of China is indicating that Instagram is being ported over to the Windows Phone 8 platform. There’s a catch, though. Rather than being launched across the board, the Instagram WP8 app will apparently be exclusive to Nokia Lumia smartphones. It’s unclear whether this exclusivity is for the life of WP8 or if it’s only for a specified launch window (no pun intended). To help make up for the delay of bringing Instagram to Windows Phone 8, the WP8 app will apparently get one bonus filter that its Android and iOS counterparts don’t get. We’re expecting the Instagram app to hit the Windows Phone Marketplace soon. Via BGR Share This With The World!
