The News: Off Work Means Time To Work Edition Beth Snyder April 14, 2012 This is a concept it is very difficult to explain to my mother: When I’m not working, then I have time to work. Which makes sense if you know my regular job takes me out of the house, yet my side job is online. Apparently, if I am sitting on my computer typing, she assumes it can’t be anything serious and she feels free to interrupt me at will with any inane thought that happens to pop into her head. Just now, as I was trying to write a review, she chose to update me on some woman she used to work with (but didn’t like). Now, the fact that she retired over six years ago and I hadn’t actually talked to anyone she worked with for at least five years before that should indicate how much I care about their lives, but not to her. To her, “on the computer” equates to “playing”. Ah well. I needed to do an affiliate news post anyway.
