Perhaps I’ve mentioned at some point, perhaps not, but my very first job ever was working in the local library branch as a page. Which means shelving books, mostly. As part of my interview there was a practical test, in which I had to shelve books in proper order according to the Dewey Decimal System. Somehow, that had been a challenge for some of the applicants. I still don’t get it. But to this day, it serves me well having learned it, since now I can walk into pretty much any library and immediately know where I need to go to find the book I need.
