Far be it from me to question the work of those who know their industry far better than I do, but I think someone needs to tell LG that nobody is longing for the days where you had to hit each key multiple times to get the letter you want.

That’s exactly what you’ll have to do on the LG Gentle, which forgoes a keyboard of any kind – physical or digital – and instead is equipped only with a 12-button keypad. Remember those days? Yeah, they were terrible.

It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is packed with a 1.1GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 4GB of storage space, which is thankfully upgradeable via a microSD card. The screen is 3.2-inches with a 480 x 320 pixel resolution, and there’s a 3MP camera on the back.

The LG Gentle is only available in Korea right now. It’s only $175, but at that price you can get an actual phone.

I definitely understand the desire for a simpler phone experience and this might actually suit the needs of someone who spends way too much time staring at their smartphone screen. Then again, the inclusion of a 3MP camera just baffles me and makes me wonder what the true purpose of the phone is. Is it a joke? If it’s a joke, I can get behind it.
