Today in Things You Didn’t Know You Needed: The Cube. No, not the awesome low-budget Canadian horror flick. This Cube isn’t a deadly puzzle trap, but something you actually want. It’s a tiny little projector that can hook up to your smartphone and project a 120-inch display. Watching movies on your phone just got a whole lot less ridiculous.

The Cube comes from Pico, a company well known in the world of digital projection, and it might be their most appealing product yet. Small enough to fit in certain pockets at only 2 inches (cubed, haha), it even packs its own speaker, internal battery, and SD card reader. At the risk of sounding like a late night infomercial host, it’s a lot like having a movie theater in your pocket.

The video can go up to Full HD 1080p, the brightness is Full 40 Lumens, and of course it has HDMI connectivity. You can pick one up right now for $279 on Amazon, which isn’t a small amount of money, but it certainly sounds like it’s worth every penny.
